In the final year of NZSki I set up Sharpe Innovation and had lots of fun initially helping with HR in small business that didn’t have expertise before developing into design projects and the odd bit of training.

I continued the consultancy while learning the hard and fast flip side of HR, spending a year in Dunedin with the infrastructure company, Delta. Heavily unionized, with tight margins and the burden of the Christchurch earthquakes it was a tough spot at the time but essential to my own development.
